Karol Marcinkowski University Hospital in Zielona Góra, Poland

The Zielona Góra hospital boasts a history spanning over a century. Each year, nearly 200,000 patients are treated at the facility. The hospital received the Economic Award of the Governor of the Lubuskie Province in the “Innovative Health Care Units” category in 2021.

Customer needs

One of the hospital’s most important requirements was the elimination of the enormous amount of paper invoices circulating daily throughout the organization and the transition to digital processing. The OCR module implemented by our specialists, together with the two-way integration between the financial-accounting system and the document workflow system, provided for single entry of documents and largely automatic data extraction from invoices. The OCR module recognizes the document’s identifying data and automatically completes the document registration form with this information.

Key modules and processes

  • Invoice register and workflow
  • Invoice OCR module
  • Integration with the financial-accounting system
  • Register of contractors
  • User permission management
  • Substitute handling

Customer review

“The electronic document workflow system fully supports the digital handling of accounting documents. Most importantly, it has freed us of the vast number of paper invoices that used to circulate on our desks. Automatic reading and entry of key data from invoices into the registration form has accelerated the digitalization of documents, which still mostly arrive in paper or email form. We assess our cooperation with Business Online Services very positively. BOS employees have extensive experience implementing their solutions in the medical sector. During the course of the project, we felt they understood the specifics of how our hospital operates. They were open to our suggestions and ideas, which made the project implementation proceed very smoothly.”
